Job summary

The University of Chicago is seeking an Associate Athletic Director for Student‑Athlete Success/Compliance to lead day‑to‑day NCAA compliance activities, oversee eligibility certification, and develop student‑athlete programming across academics, wellness, and leadership.

You will collaborate with Career Advancement, Student Wellness and campus partners, advising the Student‑Athlete Advisory Committee and reporting to the Deputy Director of Athletics.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in a related field.
• Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum 2–5 years of work experience in athletics or a scholastic setting.

Responsibilities

• Leads athletic department efforts and programs in holistic student‑athlete development, leadership development, career development and campus engagement.
• Provides timely and accurate system of completing mandated forms, reports, assessments, and audits as required by various agencies.
• Oversees and directs NCAA eligibility certification processes.
• Represents the department at the University, conference, and national levels as appropriate.
• Assures the timely investigation, resolution, and self‑reporting of rules infractions as they occur.
• Serves as an advisor to the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SMC).
• Compiles data/information for projects assigned by the Athletic Director.
• Connects athletes to cross‑campus resources that aid in the development of well‑rounded student‑athletes.
• Disseminates informational, educational, and promotional materials for welfare and academic enhancement opportunities and resources.
• Coordinates Aims of Athletics annual programming.
• Develops student‑athlete newsletter/communications.
• Partners with administrative staff to provide communication updates to teams.
• Solves problems in areas such as academic and administrative policy, student admissions, curriculum research and development, and budget development.
• Collaborates with academic divisions in educating students on safety issues. Interprets student disciplinary issues and prepares an annual university summary of disciplinary actions.
• Performs other related work as needed.
