Job summary

Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics seeks a Mental Health Clinician for the Department of Integrated Behavioral Health. The role focuses on assessment, triage, and comprehensive mental health services for student-athletes in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities include individual/group/crisis counseling, risk assessment, team consultations, and coordination with sports medicine and external providers. A Master's degree and licensure eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling or related discipline required.
• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Psychologist, or eligible within 6 months of hire.
• Experience providing mental health services to university/athlete populations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and crisis counseling to student-athletes.
• Conduct mental health screenings and crisis interventions.
• Coordinate care with sports medicine, psychiatric providers, and off-campus specialists.
• Develop and deliver mental health training and wellness workshops.
• Maintain confidential clinical records in compliance with laws.
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotations and supervise trainees.
