Job summary

Job Description

Description of Service Opportunity:

Organize academic support systems for student athletes throughout the school year. This individual will communicate with members of the coaching staff to identify student athletes in need of academic support, and guide extra help structure in coordination with CRLS Teachers and Cambridge School Volunteer Tutors.

Other Responsibilities include:

  • Identify students who participate on athletic teams, or others who may wish to participate who need academic support, in order to achieve academic success.
  • Communicate with CRLS Coaches to create an academic support structure for students in need.
  • Communicate with teachers of identified students to follow up the type and level of support needed for each individual student who has been identified.
  • Coordinate with Cambridge School Volunteers or teachers to identify extra help or tutoring needed for specific individual needs of the student.
  • Communicate with students to help them structure their time appropriately, and set up plan in meeting with teachers, tutors, and attending study hall.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians of students in program to share setup structure for academic support, and academic expectations to ensure success.
  • Assist the Director of Athletics in Quarterly Academic Eligibility checks for all students registered for sport participation.
  • Schedule a meeting and provide a report for students within the program to the Director of Athletics on a regular basis.
  • Follow up with appropriate communications with coaches, teachers, tutors, student athletes, deans regarding progress of students in the academic program; including any additional information pertinent to their performance.
  • Organize study hall times, dates, locations, and provide student lists for those monitoring the students.
  • If necessary draw up student athlete academic contracts to communicate expectations of those identified in need of support.
  • Help play a role in assisting students in the college process, specifically those interested in athletic participation beyond high school.
  • Attend CRLS Athletic Department Meeting when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics

Requirements:

Prior experience with high school student-athletes. Ability to be organized, work independently, communicate effectively, and keep clear and accurate attendance records.

Length of Contract:

July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027

Contract Amount

Not exceed $12000.00

Please note that your hourly rate is dependent upon your collective bargaining agreement or individual hourly rate. If you are a non-exemptemployee and have worked more than 40 hours a week, you will be paid time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours
