Job Summary
  • Apply current tools and technologies to manages the station's music library.
  • Understand and Apply laws and principles to place music that meets FCC guidelines in WideOrbit and ensures that it receives necessary rotation.
  • Conduct research and write clearly and correctly to maintain working relationships with various music promoters, venues, artist, and to promote local concerts.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of professional ethical principles and work ethics to review, catalog, and place new music into rotation on a regular basis;
  • Write correctly and clearly in preparing a description of new music for the On-Air Personalities and shows as new music is placed in rotation;
  • Demonstrate teamwork through meetings with the Program Director about the amount of rotation music will receive and other programming ideas;
  • Write clearly to maintain a record of all music placed in WideOrbit each Month
  • Develop professional job skills by attending any staff leadership & job skill enhancement training
  • Demonstrate professionalism by attending staff meetings and perform functions as deemed appropriate by Operations Manager or Program Director
  • Utilize teamwork and leadership to train and mentor staff and volunteers.
  • Apply current tools and technologies to assist with station remotes and events
  • Adhere to all Policy and Procedures
  • Report any and all violations to GM and OM
Required Qualifications
  • Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours and maintaining at least a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average.

All students must have completed one or more of the following courses:

  • In house WIT Training Course
  • COMM 3351-Radio Program Production
  • COMM-3352-Fundamentals of Television Production
  • COMM-3353-Fundamentals of Film & Video Production
  • COMM 4421-Radio Practicum
Preferred Qualifications
  • Skilled with Adobe Audition

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently moves Audio/Visual equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across campus for various classrooms and events needs
