Lamar State College-Port Arthur seeks a Student Assistant for Correctional Education. Responsibilities include clerical work, answering phones, and providing customer support. Candidates must be current LSCPA students maintaining a GPA of 2.0 or higher and can work up to 20 hours a week.
This position is security sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal record information.

Special Instructions To Applicants:Student status is required to be eligible for student positions. Must be enrolled in a minimum of six hours during a long semester three hours during the summer semesters. Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Limited to working up to 20 hours a week. Job Summary:Confidentiality required. Will be responsible for answering phones, filing, operating a copy machine, and use the computer for clerical work. Excellent customer service skills a plus. Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:Must be enrolled at LSCPA for current semester and maintain 2.0 or better GPA. Basic computer skills, good interpersonal and communication skills. Telephone, record keeping and scheduling skills. Responsible, dependable, professional and punctual behavior expected while working in a team environment. Work schedule will be arranged around class schedule to meet need of the department.
Preferred Qualifications:Highly organized and able to multi-task.
Salary:$8.50 hr
Work Hours:19.5 hrs per week not to exceed 20 hrs a week.
