Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary: The purpose of this position is to lead Del Mar’s student newspaper, the Foghorn News.

Minimum Qualifications

Current Del Mar College student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours while employed.

Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with a college publication or other news publication preferred.
  • Graphic artist experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AP style preferred.
  • Ability to use InDesign and Photoshop programs preferred.
  • Skilled in video editing preferred.
Job Duties
  • Manage a team of volunteers and other paid student assistants.
  • Responsible for design of Foghorn News pages.
  • Write stories, shoot photos and produce videos.
