Position Summary

This is manual and semi-skilled work involving a variety of food service duties in a dining hall. Work involves responsibility for preparing and serving foods, cleaning facilities, and providing customer service.

Responsibility

• Assisting cooks and other kitchen personnel in washing dishes, serving from a serving line, cleaning tables, sweeping floors.
• Maintaining neatness and cleanliness in preparing, handling, and serving food, and serving patrons in a pleasant and courteous manner.
• Care and use of food service equipment including meat slicer, mixing machine, steam cooker, and beverage machines.
• Performing related work as assigned by management.

Eligibility

Must be a current UGA Student enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for the semester.

Qualifications and Experience

• Some food experience preferred, but not required.

Physical Demands

Move loads up to 50 lbs, unloading and stocking products; perform push/pull activity with products weighing up to 30 lbs; perform duties with repetitive motion of wrists, arm, and shoulder; possess hand and finger coordination; reach, climb, balance, crouch, twist, crawl, and kneel; work in noisy, hot/cold environment with chemicals, cleaning equipment, dust, fumes, and odors; work long hours standing; handle all types of foods.
