Stephen F. Austin State University is seeking a student assistant to provide technical support to faculty and staff. You will assist with endpoints, instructional environments, and hardware/software issues under supervision.
Training is provided; no direct experience required. You must be enrolled as a student, and strong teamwork and communication skills are preferred for handling classroom tech and equipment logistics.
This is a student position responsible for assisting in providing technical support to university faculty and staff. Position may be responsible for assisting in a variety of department functions including but not limited to technical support for all endpoints; maintaining instructional environments; receiving and releasing computers and equipment for service; and resolving computer hardware/software issues. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
The minimum education required for admittance as a student at Stephen F. Austin State University.
No direct experience is required. Training and instruction will be provided. Technical experience, customer service orientation and skills, understanding of computers (both Mac and PC) and basic classroom technology, ability to work and communicate effectively as a team, and ability to work maximum number of weekly work hours is preferred.
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to climb a ladder and work from one to assist with equipment installation.

A student must be enrolled in six or more semester hours to be eligible for student employment during the fall or spring semesters. To be eligible for student employment during the summer, a student must be enrolled in three or more semester hours or be registered for courses in the upcoming fall semester.
Student assistants may not hold any other type of position such as a graduate assistantship or temporary casual employment at the same time that they are employed as a student assistant.
