South Cook Intermediate Service Center is seeking a full-time Student Advocate to support students dealing with trauma through social-emotional learning in collaboration with district schools. The role focuses on case management, attendance, and building partnerships with families and community services within the district environment.

The Advocate will report to the ALOP Coordinator and work on-site within South Cook school locations, coordinating with building administration to promote student

Competenze

• Strong technology skills and eagerness to keep up with technology updates
• Excellent organizing skills for advocacy space and digital files/drives
• Commitment to serving underserved students in grades 4–12
• Experience with community agencies and supporting public school students
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills; persistence with students
• Advocacy skills including negotiation and professional conflicts handling
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and school personnel

Mansioni

• Maintains a caseload of 25-32 students across 4th–12th grades
• Takes daily attendance for caseload
• Observe students with permission in classroom
• Monitors attendance, behavior, grades; acts as first responder to crises
• Create and monitor individual SSP with goals
• Meet with each student weekly
• Attend SCISC ALOP team meetings and trainings
• Complete SCISC Know Before trainings
• Engage in family outreach and wellness checks
• Record daily caseload notes and maintain Google Drive files
• Assist families and schools in writing/monitoring success plans
• Connect students and families to additional support services
