Job summary

Arizona Autism Charter Schools, Inc. seeks a Student 1:1 RBT at the Tucson Upper Campus to support a specific student under the supervision of the Special Education Team and ABA Managers. The role focuses on behavioral, adaptive, and instructional needs within a classroom setting.

The candidate will reinforce lessons per IEP, assist with daily routines, and implement ABA-based strategies under supervision. This is a full-time school-based position with a fixed schedule and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification.
  • Two years of special education and aggression de-escalation experience preferred.
  • Experience with profoundly non-verbal students in a classroom setting.
  • Ability to exercise tact, good judgment, and initiative with students, staff, and the public.
  • Ability to communicate courteously and professionally with coworkers and parents.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience in structured teaching, center-based model preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist individual students with lesson assignments to reinforce learning concepts per IEP.
  • Work with students to reinforce materials as instructed by the teacher.
  • Support academic instruction and implement behavior plans as part of a classroom team.
  • Execute lessons as directed by the teacher or lead, including small group activities.
  • Assist the student in routines, transitions, and self-care tasks (toileting, eating, grooming).
  • Implement tier one behavioral supports and ABA techniques as directed by ABA Manager or Campus Director.
  • Accompany and assist the student throughout the school day as required by the IEP.
  • Monitor and document relevant daily data related to daily living, medical, behavioral, and academic data.

Student 1:1 RBT - Tucson Upper Campus

Under the supervision and direction of the Special Education Team and ABA Managers, the Student 1:1 RBT assists a specific student, performing a variety of tasks related to the student's behavioral, adaptive, and instructional needs in a classroom setting.

Duties:
  • Assists individual students with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts in accordance with the student's individualized education program (IEP).
  • Works with individual students to reinforce learning of materials or skills as instructed by the teacher.
  • Work as part of a classroom team to support academic instruction and implementation of behavior plans.
  • Execute lessons as directed by the teacher or classroom lead. These may include supporting independent work, special projects, or teaching a lesson to a small group.
  • Assists the student in participating in classroom routines, transitions, and self-care tasks as necessary. Self-care activities are related to toileting, eating, and grooming.
  • Implement tier one behavioral supports and behavior intervention techniques in alignment with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) as directed by the ABA Manager or Campus Director.
  • Accompanies and assists the student throughout the school day as necessitated by the IEP.
  • Monitor and document daily relevant data associated with the student’s activities of daily living and any medical, behavioral, and/or academic data the team deems necessary.
  • Obtain and maintain QBS certification.
  • Strong adherence to policies as outlined in the AZACS Employee Handbook.
  • Maintain professional conduct and appearance.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Managers and Directors.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Special Education and Aggression experience with de-escalation: 2 years (preferred).
  • Experience with profoundly non-verbal students in a classroom setting.
  • Active Registered Behavior Technician Certification.
  • Ability to exercise tact, good judgment, and initiative in dealing with students, faculty, and the public
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and parents courteously and professionally.
  • Ability to exercise reasonable judgment and maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience in structured teaching, with a center-based model preferred.
Required:
  • Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
  • First aid/CPR certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Active RBT Certification
