Job Title: STS Registry Auditor

Job Description

The HMS Society for Thoracic Surgeons (STS) Registry Audit team conducts data collection and abstraction of medical records for the STS National Registry Database. We are seeking part-time or casual Clinical Reviewers/Abstractors to remotely audit data for the STS National Registry databases.

Responsibilities

1. Abstract and audit clinical data from medical records and record results in HMS registry audit tools.
2. Participate in meetings and training sessions with HMS and participating sites.
3. Access electronic abstraction tools and electronic medical records.
4. Meet quality and productivity standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required; active RN license preferred.
• Coding certifications preferred.
• At least 2 years of coding and medical record abstraction experience with STS or related registries.
• Specialty in cardiac nursing with knowledge of cardiac procedures such as CABG, AVR, and MVR.

Requirements

• Access to reliable broadband internet.
• Familiarity with MS Office Suite, SharePoint, and similar software.
• Self-motivated with the ability to meet quality and productivity standards.
