JM T is seeking an Engineering Office Leader with structural or roadway engineering experience, to be responsible for running the operations of the Atlanta office including the formulation of business, marketing and strategic planning. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing strategy, fostering growth, and collaborating with JMT's various practices and services, as well as providing input and direction to enhance business operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction. The successful candidate will also supervise office staff and coordinate with other regional office leaders and the main corporate office.

Candidate must be a strong leader, able to inspire, motivate and build teams, and communicate effectively. This role will collaborate with JMT executive leadership, practice leaders, and regional/office leaders to drive growth and success for our GA staff and their respective clients.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Maintain existing and develop new clients
• Maintain close liaison with clients to resolve project questions
• Responsible for the monitoring and management of work-in-process, billings, monitoring of outstanding accounts receivable and initial collection efforts for projects
• Forecast administrative, staffing, and facility needs for office
• Review the design and production work of the staff to ensure that it meets the highest professional standards and is in conformance with company standards
• Strive continually to see that work is completed on time and within allocated budget
• Coordinate with JMT Senior Management the performance of the branch office
• Coordinate and carry out the marketing and financial objectives and policies established by the Board of Directors
• Coordinate assignment of manpower with main office in timely forecast of project needs
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the firm’s policies and applicable laws
• Interview, hire, train, assign and directing work, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, address complaints and resolve problems
• Maintain professional licensure in Georgiaand be responsible for supervising production of construction documents, facility studies, and engineering reports

Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Registered Engineer in Georgia
• 15+ years of industry experience including supervisory, project management, and business development experience

Preferred Experience

• Thorough understanding of transportation market design and construction processes, regulatory requirements, and business practices
• Client and industry relationships with a preference for public agencies with large capital programs
• Experience with GDOT procurement and project delivery processes
• Advanced Degree in Engineering or related field

Working Conditions

Successful candidate is expected to work primarily in-person. Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
