Job Description
Full Time Structures Representative – Irvine, California (also available at San Bernardino office).
WSP is seeking a skilled Structures Representative to provide technical leadership on complex construction management projects. The role involves supervising construction engineering and inspection activities, ensuring quality assurance for all structure-related tasks, and performing necessary administrative duties.
Your Impact
- Review and inspect plans and calculations for falsework, shoring, staging, bridge removal, and other technical submissions on City, County, Caltrans, and State projects.
- Respond to and resolve field construction issues.
- Conduct meetings between contractor, owner, utilities, and other project parties.
- Inspect, document, and coordinate field testing of construction materials.
- Analyze construction costs of changed conditions, draft change orders, and recommend claim dispositions.
- Prepare constructability reviews and reports.
- Assume responsibility for field engineering, contract administration, inspection, testing, surveying, and quality control on one large or several small construction projects.
- Supervise field inspection and field office personnel.
- Represent projects at meetings and conferences.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Applicants should meet the following qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- BSCE or related degree.
- Current California PE license.
- Minimum 12 years of experience, 5 of which are as a Structures Representative.
- Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and materials.
- Valid CA driver’s license.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with railroads.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and compliance with WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
- Successful completion of WSP’s motor‑vehicle screening.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
This position is subject to and contingent upon client approval of candidates presented by WSP.
Compensation
Expected Salary: $203,850 – $249,150.
