Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a payload systems engineer in Everett, WA to design and document structural and interior payload systems. You will translate requirements into system design, create CAD models, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet program objectives.

The role emphasizes hands-on analysis, supplier coordination, and the preparation of technical data and compliance reports for installation and certification. Domestic/international travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences).
  • 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent industry experience (preferred).
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Familiarity with payloads engineering releases and configuration management processes (preferred).
  • Experience with CATIA, ENOVIA, IVT, DCCS, and REDARS (preferred).
  • Experience reviewing technical documentation and authoring technical deliverables (preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and effective verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to collaborate across teams (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Creates, maintains, and updates structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3‑D CAD tools and other design methods to provide product definition to engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and customers.
  • Performs and integrates analytical and test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Manages supplier development, test, and production activities; coordinate with suppliers to optimize designs and achieve program goals.
  • Develops and improves design/analysis processes and tools to increase effectiveness, quality, and efficiency.
  • Investigates emerging technologies to propose concepts for future product designs that meet projected requirements.
  • Prepares and reviews technical data, engineering releases, and compliance summary reports supporting installation and certification.
  • Works under general direction and collaborate across multi‑discipline teams to deliver on program objectives.
