Job summary

Bell in Piney Flats, TN is seeking an experienced Structures Mechanic to perform disassembly, inspections, repairs and modifications on aircraft structures in accordance with data and customer specifications.

You will work from detailed manuals and blueprints, fabricate mounting brackets, document all work, and may require overtime. A 2+ year structures-focused aircraft mechanic background and an FAA A&P preferred are expected; own tools required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience as an aircraft mechanic with structures experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• FAA A&P certificate preferred.
• Experience with Bell commercial models or maintenance courses preferred.
• Must provide own tools.

Responsibilities

• Disassembly and reassembly of aircraft, scheduled inspections, and Alert Service Bulletins.
• Major and minor repairs and alterations to the aircraft structure, including sheet metal and composite repairs and fabrications.
• Fabricate mounting brackets, and measure, drill, and modify aircraft structures without causing damage to structure or underlying components.
• Document all work accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
• Work overtime as required.

Aircraft Services Team - Piney Flats, TN

Come join the Bell Piney Flats Aircraft Services Customization team and help ensure best in class service to our customers. In this position, you’ll be an integral part of the team, performing a variety of tasks such as aircraft installations, inspections, fabrication, and modification, all in accordance with applicable data and customer specifications.

What you’ll be doing as a Structures Mechanic

• Perform disassembly and reassembly of aircraft, scheduled inspections, and Alert Service Bulletins.
• Perform major and minor repairs and alterations to the aircraft structure, including sheet metal and composite repairs and fabrications.
• Fabricate mounting brackets, and measure, drill, and modify aircraft structures without causing damage to structure or underlying components.

Skills You Bring to this Role

• 2+ years’ experience as an aircraft mechanic; must include structures experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• FAA A&P Certificate is preferred.
• Maintenance experience on Bell commercial models and/or Bell field maintenance courses preferred.
• Must provide own tools.
• Ability to perform job duties, including basic measuring, drilling, and fabrication tasks.
• Ability to work from detailed documents, technical manuals, and blueprints.
• Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment with strong organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions accurately.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs., and to team lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform prolonged kneeling, squatting, sitting, crawling, and climbing stairs, ladders and work stands.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during the entire duration of shift.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
• Flexibility to bend, stoop, and crouch as required for tasks.
• Good vision, including the ability to focus on small details and identify defects.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding progress and potential issues.
• Willingness to follow instructions and ask for clarification when needed.
