Boeing is seeking a Structures Lab Test Engineering Manager in Tukwila, WA. You will lead day-to-day Structures Lab Test operations supporting BCA and BDS programs, define strategy and execution for future lab needs, and focus on safety, quality and people development.

You will manage engineers and technicians, develop project plans, acquire resources, oversee capital investments, and build strong partnerships with customers and stakeholders to drive efficiency and schedule performance.

Qualifications

  • U.S. export control compliance required (U.S. Person).
  • BS degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.
  • At least one year in a leadership role OR completed Boeing 'Exploring Leadership' course.
  • Experience presenting to technical, management and executive audiences.
  • Experience in a lab test, flight test, or similar test environment.

Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) has an exciting opportunity for a Structures Lab Test Engineering Manager to join our team in Tukwila, WA .

This manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day Structures Lab Test operations in support of multiple Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) & Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) development and sustaining programs, as well as defining the strategy and execution plan to position their team and lab for the future of our program partners’ testing needs. This role requires a determined commitment to safety, quality, and functional excellence that will drive increased efficiency and schedule performance. Position Responsibilities:
  • Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Structures Test & Materials Verification

Boeing First-Line Leader Assessment:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Tukwila, WA.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”

  • Experience working with and presenting to technical, management and executive level audiences

  • Experience in a lab test, flight test, or similar test environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • The ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship

  • 3+ years of experience leading and/or managing a team

  • 3+ years of experience in a lab test, flight test, or similar test environment

  • Technical project/program management experience

Summary Pay Range: $151,300 – $204,700
