Overview
PCSI is looking for a General Maintenance Worker for the Structures Department at our Total Facility Maintenance Fort Knox, Kentucky contract!
As a GMW, you will perform functions of the contract by making minor adjustments and repairs to plumbing, electrical, waste systems, architectural and structural building components, doors, windows, floor systems, light carpentry, roof systems. Preventative maintenance functions and minor repairs, including changing filters, cleaning cooling towers, heating and cooling coils, and changing fluorescent and other light bulbs, manufacture, repair, installation of screens and glass and ensuring all paperwork is completed.
This position will report to the Structures supervisor and is based out of Ft. Knox, Kentucky. Typical work hours will be Monday through Friday from 7:00 am- 3:30 pm.

What You'll Do as General Maintenance Worker:
- Minor adjustments and repairs to plumbing, electrical, waste systems, architectural and structural building components, doors, windows, floor systems, light carpentry, and roof systems.
- Cleaning and maintaining of mechanical rooms.
- Preventative maintenance functions and minor repairs, including changing filters, cleaning cooling towers, heating and cooling coils, and changing fluorescent and other light bulbs.
- Manufacture, repair, and installation of screens and glass.
- Sign maintenance to include inspections, replacement (setting/affixing) and painting.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed.
- Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.
- Using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
- Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
- Painting structures and equipment.
- Repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
- Replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles.
- Hanging doors and installing door locks.
- Replacing broken windowpanes.
- Snow and Ice Removal Operations.
Roof, Ceiling, and Wall Details:
- Roofs: Assess and make minor repairs to shingle, TPO, rock & seam & conventional rib metal roofing, including diagnostics of leaking points. Minor repairs to include tarping roof and placing water catching devices as needed to prevent interior property damage. Ability to make detailed notes of roofing type and leak location. Cutters & downspout repair and replacement.
- Ceiling Tiles: Drop ceiling repair and/or replacement of ceiling tiles (2x2 & 2x4). Ceiling grid layout and installation of wall track, mains, cross Ts for replacement/new install. Installing insulation/sound proofing.
- Drywall ceilings: Removal of damaged drywall ceiling; installation of new drywall including taping of joints and finishing compounds; painting of ceiling.
- Wood ceilings: Removal of damaged wood panels; knowledge of wood species for replacement and finishes (stain, clear coats).
- Walls: Patch holes, cracks, and dents with plaster or compound; removal of damaged drywall and replacement with new; installation and finishing for paint; repair and installation of wall tiles (ceramic, subway, paneling, FRP, etc.).
- Painting: Painting of walls, doors, window casings, ceilings, floors, brick, concrete blocks, steps, and equipment.
- Windows & Glass: Installation and replacement or fabrication of screens, replacement glass, sashes, seals/gaskets, weatherstripping, trim, locking hardware, hinges/pivots, balances, stops, jambs, sills, operator handles, frames; removal and installation of mirrors; repair and installation of window blinds; tinting of windows.
- Doors: Proper installation and adjustment of hinges, closers, seals, weatherstripping, latches and stops; removal and installation of doors/frames including hollow core, solid core, steel, and fire-rated doors; installation and adjustment of latches and locksets; thresholds and recessed mats; repair and replacement of sliding doors; painting of doors and jams.
- Flooring: Replacement/installation of carpet, ceramic tiles, quarry tiles, slate tiles, VCT/LVT; layout and installation; base removal/installation; epoxy coatings and other flooring paints; grinding of existing coatings; repair/installation of stair treads and anti-slip devices.
- Framing: Demolition and framing with wood and metal studs; layout for openings; insulation of walls using fiberglass, rock wool, or sound bats.
- Masonry: Minor repairs to concrete, block, and precast; drilling/filling holes, replacement of block/brick, tuck pointing, caulking expansion joints and sealant.
- Drywall: Installation and finishing of new drywall; J-bead, L-bead, corner bead; expansion joints; plaster or drywall compound; proper sanding for smooth finish.
- Furnishings: Basic knowledge of cabinets, countertops, vanities, backsplashes, caulking, mounting TV/screens, moving furniture and equipment, wall-mounted handrails, etc.; perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must have at least six (6) months of experience with the ability to perform the assigned duties.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb ladders. Frequently required to kneel, squat, bend, and reach.
- Required to be able to lift 50lbs up to 10 times per day.
- Ability to perform a variety of maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of all maintenance trades in a maintenance environment (prior government contractor experience preferred).
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools required for installation, maintenance and repair.
- Must have the ability to successfully complete all applicable training modules assigned.
- Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and speak the English language.
Other Requirements
- Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
- Ability to work outside in inclement weather as needed and be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors.
- Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
- Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.
- If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
