U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic (Structures) to perform a variety of tasks across Mason, Carpentry, and Painting functions.

The role involves visual inspections, repair work, and adherence to building codes, safety standards, and infection-control requirements at medical facilities. The incumbent will interpret instructions, read blueprints, and work with a range of tools and equipment to maintain and renovate interior and exterior structures, walls, floors,

Qualificações

• Evidence of training or experience showing ability to perform duties.
• Qualification standards will be used to rate applicants and screen-out those not meeting requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Constructs, alters, repairs, and modifies items made of metal, wood, and substitutes.
• Assembles, installs, repairs and modifies framing and structures per complex drawings and codes.
• Plastering and finishing of walls/ceilings; select tools and materials for tasks.
• Patches/repairs plaster or stucco; finishes gypsum joints.
• Removes and installs flooring and tiles in medical offices; comply with infection control.
• Locate leaks, read plans, build according to blueprints and maintenance requests.
• Apply materials or paint using brushes, rollers, spray guns, or special effects devices.
