Job description

Structured Literacy Professional Learning Facilitator

The Rollins Center for Language & Literacy is a professional development center founded in 2004 at the Atlanta Speech School. Its purpose is to break the cycle of illiteracy for children who have been denied access to educational opportunity, extending science‑based instruction to regional schools and globally through the free online Cox Campus. Cox Campus democratizes the sciences of healthy brain development, language, and literacy, offering accredited professional coursework, content, and community free to all. We commit to literacy and justice for all through an equity‑based learning platform that builds expertise and agency so every adult can support each child's voice.

Essential Job Duties
  • Work collaboratively with district partners to support system‑wide implementation of structured literacy practices, utilizing components of Equitable Literacy Outcomes aligned with Cox Campus content.
  • Create plans to support leader knowledge and prioritization of structured literacy, educator professional learning, instructional coaching, culturally responsive pedagogy, high‑quality instructional materials, data and assessment, and MTSS and intervention.
  • Co‑design and deliver hybrid training, coaching, and data consultation, using coaching frameworks to advance classroom implementation.
Other Responsibilities
  • Present structured literacy content at local and national conferences.
  • Facilitate Cox Campus community groups and collaborate with the content team to create or revise structured literacy content.
  • Navigate Cox Campus features, including group functions, resource library, and reporting.
  • Build relationships with leaders and educators to develop implementation plans and support sustainability.
  • Serve as liaison between Rollins Center evaluation specialists and client centers or schools.
  • Review literacy data annually and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Produce implementation progress reports for partner districts.
  • Facilitate and design structured literacy professional development, ensuring adult learning theory and evidence‑based practices.
  • Analyze and compare existing curriculum practices with best practices; create professional learning materials, engagement activities, and supporting resources.
  • Assist in data collection for progress monitoring and needs assessments.
  • Deliver training on interpreting student and teacher data to inform instruction.
  • Stay current on research and best practices in education, professional development, curriculum, and instruction.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to structured literacy, education, and instructional coaching.
