This position is not part of the classified personnel system; applications are accepted from residents and non-residents of Colorado. The incumbent will be required to complete work for CDE within Colorado. Multiple positions may be filled through this announcement.

The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) provides leadership, resources, support, and accountability to the state's school districts, schools, teachers, and administrators to enhance student achievement. CDE also supports the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind and the Charter School Institute. As the administrative arm of the State Board of Education, CDE implements education laws, disburses funds, and ensures accountability.

This full-time, remote position serves the East Central BOCES region, with travel within Colorado required (up to 90%). The role involves coaching teachers in implementing Structured Literacy routines, data collection, professional learning, and supporting literacy instruction for K-3 students.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in reading, elementary or special education, or related field.
• Two years of experience as a literacy coach, reading specialist, or instructional leader.

Preferred Skills

• Colorado teaching or principal licensure.
• Experience with evidence-based reading instruction and literacy assessments.
• Training in Structured Literacy (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson).

Conditions of Employment

• Remote work serving the East Central BOCES region.
• Travel within Colorado (up to 90%).
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
