Structured Credit & CLO Associate Attorney

Join our prestigious AmLaw 50 firm at our global headquarters in Charlotte, NC, as a Structured Credit & Collateralized Loan Obligations Associate Attorney. This role places you at the forefront of the financial legal services sector, working within our highly acclaimed Global Finance group. Dive deep into complex structured finance and securitization matters, focusing on CLOs, and provide expert guidance to a diverse clientele which includes some of the world's largest asset managers and leading investment and commercial banks. Salary: $235,000.00 - $435,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Offer comprehensive legal advice on a wide range of structured finance and securitization matters, with a specific emphasis on Collateralized Loan Obligations.
  • Represent high-profile clients including asset managers, equity investors, and underwriters, assisting them in structuring and completing intricate financial transactions.
  • Work closely with a globally distributed team to deliver pioneering legal solutions in the structured finance and capital markets arena.
  • Ensure all transactional solutions comply with current regulatory frameworks, while innovating to meet client needs effectively.
  • Participate actively in strategy formulation and execution to help clients achieve their financial and operational goals.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with excellent academic credentials.
  • Must have an active Bar Admission in North Carolina or be qualified to obtain admission rapidly.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in securitization and structured finance, or a strong transactional background with a desire to move into the CLO space.
  • Solid understanding of the legal aspects of private credit and debt structuring.
  • Proven track record of contributing to complex transactions in a large law firm setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior exposure to CLOs, fund finance, NAV-based facilities, or subscription line credit facilities.
  • Experience in client management and relationship building with institutional and corporate clients.
  • Solid negotiation skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary for complex contract drafting and client presentations.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of structured finance instruments and markets.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data and legal documents.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges.
