Job summary

American StaffCorp is seeking an Air Cooler Structure Welder to assemble and weld structural metal parts for industrial air-cooling equipment using MIG and pulse MIG processes. The role requires reading blueprints, interpreting AWS welding symbols, and safely operating basic hand and power tools on a production line.

The welder will join and tack-weld components, position assemblies with ladders or lifts, and perform cleanup and inspection of welds to ensure quality.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints and interpret welding symbols to set up welds accurately.
• Pass welding tests covering downhill, overhead, and flat positions.
• Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Comfort with heights and heavy lifting on a production floor.

Responsibilities

• Welding & Assembly: Join and tack-weld metal parts on a production line using pulse MIG or related welding methods.
• Equipment Operation: Connect and regulate gas torches, oxygen/fuel gas tanks, and cutting tools.
• Structural Work: Position and secure large parts using ladders, lifts and signaling crane operators.
• Fabrication & Cleanup: Dismantle assemblies, trim scrap, and inspect welds for quality and accuracy.

Air Cooler Structure Welder assembles and welds structural metal parts for industrial air-cooling equipment using MIG and pulse MIG processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Welding & Assembly: Join and tack-weld metal parts on a production line using pulse MIG or related welding methods.
• Equipment Operation: Connect and regulate gas torches, oxygen/fuel gas tanks, and thermal-cutting equipment like plasma-arc or flame-cutting tools.
• Structural Work: Climb ladders or use manlifts and hoists to position, align, and secure large workpieces, often signaling crane operators.
• Fabrication & Cleanup: Dismantle assemblies, cut scrap metal, and grind or inspect finished welds for quality and accuracy.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Welding Test: Must pass practical weld tests (typically covering downhill, overhead, and flat positions).
• Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints, interpret AWS welding symbols, and use basic hand/power tools.
• Physical Demands: Comfort working at heights on ladders/lifts, heavy lifting, and operating shop equipment.
