Job summary

Kaleidoscope Innovation, Inc. in Kinston, NC is seeking a Structure Stress Engineer to lead static, fatigue and damage tolerance analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures.

The role requires hands-on experience with FEA, hand calculations and familiarity with Airbus design processes. The candidate should have 5–10 years of aerospace structural stress analysis experience, be familiar with Airbus tools such as ISAMI, and be fluent in French and English.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Fatigue and Damage TDT analysis for structure.
  • Advanced Static and non-linear analysis experience.
  • Knowledge of hand calculations and FE analysis.
  • Knowledge of Airbus design processes (RSDP, SIDP, AP, ABD, AIPI, AIPS).
  • Understanding of aerospace design principles and airworthiness requirements.
  • Experience with Airbus Supply tools (DocMaster, Airnavx).
  • Ensure safe operation of Airbus aircraft regarding structural integrity.
  • Airbus stress Signatory experience (Checker/approver).
  • Valid Airbus training certificates in AIRBUS SAP, ISAMI, VPM and PASS SSI.
  • Bi-lingual (French and English).

Responsibilities

  • Lead Static, Fatigue and Damage TDT stress analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures using hand calculations and FEA.
  • Experience with metallic and composite structure stress analysis.
  • Understand load paths and extract loads from FEM (GFEM/DFEM).
  • Identify critical failure modes and ensure structural integrity.
  • Mitigation techniques for low margins of safety.
  • Prepare stress dossiers per certification requirements.
  • Review and validate stress analysis outputs and dossiers for compliance.
  • Coordinate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, configuration management.
  • Represent technical coordination on-site/offshore.
  • Familiarity with Airbus Stress Tools, including ISAMI.

Job Description

  • Lead and Perform Static, Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (FDT) stress analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures using classical hand calculation and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Should be having metallic and composite structure stress analysis working experience.
  • Understanding of load paths, extraction of loads from Finite Element Models (GFEM/DFEM).
  • Determination of critical failure modes and performing analysis to ensure structural integrity.
  • Mitigation techniques for low margins of safety
  • Preparation of stress dossiers as per certification requirements
  • Review and validate Stress analysis output and Stress Dossiers to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
  • Drive issue resolution by interfacing with cross functional teams (Design, manufacturing, quality, configuration management, etc.).
  • Serve as a technical representative for onsite offshore coordination, addressing queries, clarifications, and technical escalations.
  • Applicant should preferably be familiar with and have prior working experience on Airbus Stress Tools, including ISAMI.

Required Qualifications (Non-negotiable requirements)

  • BE / BTECH/MTECH/MS or equivalent degree (Aerospace/ Mechanical Engineering)
  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience in aerospace structural stress analysis.
  • Proven experience working on Airbus aircraft programs (A320, A330, A350, A380, etc.).
