Job summary

Kaleidoscope, an Infosys Company, seeks a Structure Stress Engineer in Kinston, NC to perform static, fatigue and damage tolerance analysis on aircraft structures using hand methods and FEA.

Responsibilities include evaluating metallic and composite structures, extracting loads from FEM models, preparing stress dossiers for certification, and coordinating with design, manufacturing and quality teams. Airbus tools experience (ISAMI) is preferred, bilingual in French and English a plus.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of hands-on aerospace structural stress analysis.
  • Experience with Airbus aircraft programs (A320/A330/A350/A380).
  • Knowledge of load paths from FEM/hand calculations and DFEM/GFEM extraction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead static, fatigue and damage tolerance stress analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures using hand calculations and FEA.
  • Work with metallic and composite structures stress analysis experience.
  • Understand load paths and extract loads from FEM models (GFEM/DFEM).
  • Determine critical failure modes and ensure structural integrity.
  • Prepare stress dossiers per certification requirements.
  • Review and validate stress output and dossiers, interfacing with cross-functional teams.
  • Serve as technical representative for onsite/offshore coordination, handling escalations.
  • Prefer prior experience with Airbus Stress Tools, including ISAMI.

Job Description

  • Lead and Perform Static, Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (FDT) stress analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures using classical hand calculation and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Should be having metallic and composite structure stress analysis working experience.
  • Understanding of load paths, extraction of loads from Finite Element Models (GFEM/DFEM).
  • Determination of critical failure modes and performing analysis to ensure structural integrity.
  • Mitigation techniques for low margins of safety
  • Preparation of stress dossiers as per certification requirements
  • Review and validate Stress analysis output and Stress Dossiers to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
  • Drive issue resolution by interfacing with cross functional teams (Design, manufacturing, quality, configuration management, etc.).
  • Serve as a technical representative for onsite offshore coordination, addressing queries, clarifications, and technical escalations.
  • Applicant should preferably be familiar with and have prior working experience on Airbus Stress Tools, including ISAMI.

Required Qualifications (Non-negotiable requirements)

  • BE / BTECH/MTECH/MS or equivalent degree (Aerospace/ Mechanical Engineering)
  • 5-10 years of hands - on experience in aerospace structural stress analysis.
  • Proven experience working on Airbus aircraft programs (A320, A330, A350, A380, etc.).
