Primary Responsibilities


The primary duties of the Structure Representative are technical oversight and contract administration of bridge construction projects including inspection, planning, scheduling and coordination of construction inspection, quality assurance inspections of bridge and transportation structure work on the project, including foundations, substructure and superstructure, coordination with contractor, supervising inspectors, surveyors and materials testers as well as documentation of the project progress and payment. Responsible for maintaining accurate daily record of construction site activity and produces required reports on progress, safety, quality, schedule and budget status. Coordinates with others for documentation for contractor progress pay estimates. Does calculations to support the technical aspects of the structure work including shoring, falsework and quantities. #LI-JF1

Preferred Qualifications



  • BS in Civil Engineering

  • Construction Management or related degree

  • 5 years' experience construction inspection with experience as a Structure Representative on California Highway projects.

  • California PE required.


This position requires a valid driver's license and compliance with HDR's vehicle policy.


This position is subject to a pre-employment drug test and drug and alcohol testing during the course of your employment based upon HDR's Drug Testing and Drug Free Workplace Policy.





Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience
  • A minimum of 5 years progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects
  • Must have a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction
  • Must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Must be computer literate, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position is $94,000 - $133,000 and depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
