General Responsibilities:

• Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel).
• Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractors, and others regarding site activities, project requirements, and testing results.
• Transport material samples with documentation to laboratories for testing and analysis.
• Prepare and submit data and observations through reports and digital formats for daily review by the Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
• Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites.
• Follow strict safety standards.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

• Conduct testing, observation, and inspection as per training and procedures.
• Inspect projects requiring expertise in multiple construction inspection areas.
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Test materials to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
• Document findings clearly and accurately.
• Analyze data for accuracy before reporting.
• Communicate findings to the Project Manager and team.
• Possess proficiency in multiple testing and inspection areas, including laboratory work.
• Train junior technicians and supervise activities when necessary.
• Coordinate pre-dispatch activities with relevant managers.
• Interact with clients and site personnel as directed.
• Assist in developing scope of testing and inspection services.
• Maintain equipment calibration and operation.
• Perform advanced fieldwork and support project management.
• Adhere to safety protocols and report safety issues.
• Ensure quality standards across all projects.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience or equivalent training.
• Experience with laptop use and Microsoft Office.
• Preferred certifications include:

• American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), or
• ASNT Level II in nondestructive testing services.

• Completion of internal safety certifications.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record.

Preferred Certifications:

• NICET Level III or IV in Construction Materials Testing or Geotechnical categories.
• ICC certifications in reinforced concrete, fireproofing, masonry, prestressed concrete, or structural steel.
• AWS Senior Certified Welding Inspector (SCWI).
• ASNT Level III in various nondestructive testing methods.
