Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a manufacturing supervisor in Newport News to lead and develop a team of skilled trades personnel. The role focuses on translating strategic plans into actionable training and production steps while ensuring adherence to technical drawings and procedures.

The candidate will train staff, monitor quality and output, and drive productivity with a strong emphasis on budget and schedule discipline across shifts.

• Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed.
• Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity of employees, and assists in development of training procedures.
• Breaks broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to perform these plans.
• Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job including adherence to all drawings, procedures, etc.
• Responsible for manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company’s performance.
• Supervises qualified trades staff; monitors job and budget performance for all shifts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree OR Apprentice Certification OR High School and 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience OR Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience.
