Job summary

NSC Staffing is seeking Structural Welders with 2-5 years of experience for an exciting project in Pascagoula, MS. You will weld pipes of various metals on ships and support mechanical repairs in shipyards and aboard vessels.

Work includes passing the Structural Weld test (Stick and Flux Core), interpreting drawings, and supervising helpers while ensuring OSHA safety standards are followed; Navy/MSC/ABS knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience as a Structural Welder
• Knowledge of SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW welding techniques
• Ability to certify SMAW, GTAW, FCAW or Silver Brazing
• Familiarity with P-3 joint with backing ring and P-14 socket weld joint
• Understanding ship repair terminology and ability to read technical drawings

Responsibilities

• Pass the Structural Weld Test (Stick and Flux Core)
• Weld pipes of various metals for ship repair and modernization projects
• Guide assigned helpers during welding tasks
• Write Condition Reports with findings and corrective actions
• Interpret drawings, specifications, and Navy/MSC/ABS standards
• Safely operate welding equipment and PPE per OSHA standards
