Job summary

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. is seeking Structural Welders for a project in Durham, NC. Hired candidates will perform welding, layout, and assembly of components on site, applying knowledge of welding techniques.

The role requires careful adherence to safety and quality standards. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic industrial environment with hands-on welding across various processes. Benefits/PTO after 3 months are available for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Skilled in both written and verbal communication.
• Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
• Observe SIC and Customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.

Responsibilities

• Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
• Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
• Set up equipment and weld parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.
• Assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools.
• Rate information using standards that can be measured or checked.
• Detect, recognize and respond to dangerous conditions and situations.
• Certification at one or more levels is required.
