Job summary

Brick City Metals in Ocala, FL is seeking a skilled Welder to join our fabrication team. You will read blueprints and weld symbols to deliver high‑quality carbon steel and aluminum components for vertical access systems and structural assemblies.

You will perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, set up equipment, inspect welds to AWS standards, and maintain a clean, safe workspace while documenting production records. Experience in a manufacturing setting and reliable teamwork are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on welding experience in manufacturing or fabrication.
• MIG welding of carbon steel and/or aluminum; TIG experience is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and material specs.
• Familiarity with AWS welding standards and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, technical drawings, and work orders to plan and execute welds to specification.
• Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding on carbon steel and aluminum in multiple positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).
• Fabricate and assemble structural components including ladders, platforms, safety cages, handrails, and related vertical access system parts.
• Set up and operate welding equipment, positioners, and fixtures; adjust settings for material type, thickness, and weld process.
• Inspect completed welds for quality, dimensional accuracy, and AWS/D1.1/D1.2 compliance.
• Perform grinding, cutting, gouging, and other metal preparation tasks.
• Maintain a clean work area and follow safety protocols including PPE, lock-out/tag-out, and hot work.
• Complete production documentation, weld logs, and quality records on time.
• Communicate production status, quality concerns, and material needs with supervisors.
• Participate in continuous improvement and uphold quality and safety culture.
