Job summary

Labor Finders in Tallapoosa, GA is seeking an experienced Fitter to join day and night shifts for fitting and assembling structural steel components using MIG or stick welding, following blueprints and work instructions.

You will read drawings, set up tools, measure, cut, weld, and inspect welds; operate shop equipment and maintain a safe, clean workspace. Immediate start with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months welding experience preferred.
• Production welding experience is a plus.
• AWS certification helpful but not required.
• Experience interpreting mechanical drawings required.
• Ability to pass welding test/certification.
• Basic math and measuring skills required.
• Able to work overtime/weekends when needed.
• Knowledge of steel alloys, welding material, and fabrication tools preferred.
• MUST be able to pass a Drug Screening

Responsibilities

• Measure, align, and fit structural steel components.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols.
• Set up welding tools and equipment.
• Measure, cut, tack, weld, grind, and clean materials.
• Read blueprints and weld symbols.
• Operate welders, torches, drills, saws and other shop equipment.
• Inspect finished welds for quality and accuracy.
• Maintain equipment and keep work area clean.
• Report equipment and keep work area clean.
• Report equipment or quality issues to supervisor
