Structural Welder 3rd Shift (One or More Positions)- NBGTX
  • Welding steel structural parts as specified per drawings or prints.
  • Operating grinder to prepare and finish welds.
  • Operating overhead flip-rite cranes, transfers, and magnetic drills.
  • Full visual inspection of parts ensuring all welds are in place and properly applied.
  • Effectively communicating with upstream and downstream customers to address safety, quality, and efficiency issues/concerns.
  • Obtain and maintain the GMAW 2G welding certification.
  • Properly perform and pass NDT welds and inspections as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • WQ1 (2G) weld certification

  • Controlling Machines and Processes: setting up the welding machine to ensure proper welding within specifications.
  • Dependability: Being reliable, responsible, and committed to fulfilling obligations. Includes being prompt and maintaining good attendance.
  • Problem Solving and Judgement / Decision Making: Identifying problems and analyzing or reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options in order to choose the most appropriate solution.

  • Mechanical: Basic mechanical knowledge of GMAW welding machines, equipment, and consumables, including uses, basic repair, maintenance.

  • Attention to Detail: Thorough in accomplishing tasks, no matter how small they may be, and taking care to make sure that expectations are met.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Can read and understand weld symbols
