Job summary

Tate Americas, a key business within Kingspan Data Solutions, seeks a Welder for second shift in Glasgow, KY. You will measure, cut, and assemble metal components, interpret blueprints, and ensure weld quality while collaborating across production teams.

Role requires physical endurance, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and working with various measuring tools. AWS certs are preferred and safety compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent experience.
• AWS Certification preferred.
• 2+ years’ experience in structural welding.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Must be detail oriented, efficient, and able to work under minimal supervision and guidance.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions when furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must be computer literate.
• Able to work in a team environment and interface with a diverse workforce.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Ability to use calipers, micrometers, tape measure, dial indicator, and feeler gauges.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch for an 8-hour shift.
• Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel machinery and work near moving parts.

Responsibilities

• Selects, measures, cuts, and joins metals to specifications.
• Prepares metals and surfaces for safe assemblage.
• Interprets blueprints accurately.
• Regularly cleans and inspects welding equipment and tools.
• Determines correct gas ratios.
• Tests the strength of joins during and after completion.
• Diagnoses issues and troubleshoots as required.
• Reports defective materials or unsafe conditions to supervision.
• Maintains safety procedures and good housekeeping.
• Performs other duties as production needs require.
