Company: Chart Industries

The New Iberia facility specializes in cold box assembly and fabrication, pressure vessels, and other cryogenic equipment used in the air separation and hydrocarbon industries. The equipment is utilized by major LNG, petrochemical, and air separation companies worldwide. The facility is located at the Port of Iberia.

What Will You Do?

1. Weld by arc method using gas-shielded flux-cored wire, semi-automatic.
2. Weld on carbon, alloy, or stainless steel plates, sheets, shapes, castings, or other parts included in fabricated steel work.
3. Interpret drawings and welding symbols.
4. Select the correct welding wire and adjust welding machine to make the specified welds.
5. Operate arc gouging equipment.
6. Produce welds acceptable in strength and appearance in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions using gas-shielded flux core wire welding procedures.
7. Clean welds by grinding or brushing as required.
8. Judge proper setup for welding.
9. Apply welding sequences to prevent excessive shrinkage or distortion.
10. Learn the Weld Map and Welding Procedure Specification requirements.
11. Demonstrate understanding of proper use of hand tools, grinders, and welding equipment.
12. Assist Welders and Fitters in cleaning, moving, holding, clamping, and preparing workpieces.
13. Work at elevated heights up to 75ft.
14. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

Ability to work at heights up to 75ft, and perform physical tasks associated with welding work.

Your Experience Should Be...

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass 2G, 3G, and 4G skill tests.
• At least two years’ experience as a welder or through a technical welding program.
• Knowledge of shop math is preferred.
• Requirements may be obtained through on-the-job training.
