  • Conduct visual and non-destructive testing welds to verify structural integrity and compliance with marine safety standards.
  • Maintain welding equipment and follow safety protocols.
  • Prepare and clean metal surfaces by removing rust, contaminants, and old coating for strong defect-free welds on ship components.
  • Select appropriate welding methods and filler materials based on metal type, thickness and environmental conditions.
  • Must have shipyard experience.

Job description

Structural welders are responsible for building, repairing and maintaining the structural component of ships and othe marine vessels.

  • Must interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Perform welding tasks use various welding processes (SMAW, FCAW, GMAW) to join steel, aluminum, stainless steel and other alloys in multiple positions (flay, horizontal, vertical, and overhead)
  • Use grinders, drills, cutting torches, and measuring tools to prepare parts and align components.
  • Conduct visual and non-destructive testing welds to verify structural intergrity and compliance with marine safety standars.
  • Maintain welding equipment follow safety protocols.
  • Prepare and clean metal surfaces by removing rust, contaminants, and old coating for strong defect-free welds on ship components.
  • Select appropriate welding methods and filler materials based on metal type, thickness and environmental conditions to ensure durability and corrosion resistance.
