Job summary

Metspec Inc is seeking a skilled Structural Welder to join our Monterey, CA team. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute precision welding expertise to a craft-oriented metal fabrication company.

In this role you will read blueprints, weld to specifications, and collaborate with the fabrication team to meet production deadlines while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of structural welding or metal fabrication.
• Clean driving record.
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
• AWS certification or equivalent welding certification preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality welds.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods in a shop environment.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and a strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding using MIG, TIG, and/or Stick (SMAW) welding processes on steel and metal components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication.
• Fit, align, and assemble metal components prior to welding.
• Inspect completed welds for quality, strength, and compliance with specifications.
• Operate grinders, torches, and other fabrication tools as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with safety protocols.
• Collaborate with fabrication team members to meet production deadlines.
