Job summary

PACCAR is seeking a Structural Test Hydraulic Repair Technician to maintain and repair a complex hydraulic system for structural validation of PACCAR products. The role requires diagnosing, servicing, and validating high-speed hydraulic systems in a research and development setting.

The PACCAR Technical Center in Skagit Valley (roughly 65 miles north of Seattle, WA) provides engineering excellence to PACCAR divisions, collaborating with engineers, lab personnel, and facilities to drive project

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in hydraulic repair, heavy equipment maintenance, or industrial mechanics.
  • Ability to read hydraulic schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic principles, fluid power systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literacy skills for documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems for R&D hardware using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Work with components: pumps, motors, cylinders, hoses, accumulators, servo valves, actuators, manifolds, and power units.
  • Interface with control systems to diagnose and verify functionality.
  • Operate shop equipment safely, including presses, hoists, cranes, forklift, and hydraulic testers.
  • Follow safety policies and keep a clean, organized work environment.
  • Read hydraulic schematics, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, repairs, and parts.
  • Collaborate with leadership to schedule maintenance and continuous improvement.
  • Work with engineers, lab personnel to troubleshoot and complete projects.
  • Coordinate with various teams to ensure hydraulic system supports goals.

Division Information

The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, and engine divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington.

Job Functions / Responsibilities
  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, maintain, and verify performance of all aspects of research and development grade high speed hydraulic systems using specialized diagnostic tools, testing equipment and hand tools ensuring all work meets manufacturer specifications and quality standards.
  • System components include: pumps, motors, cylinders, hoses, accumulators, servo valves, actuators, manifolds, hydraulic power units.
  • Interface with commercial control systems user interfaces to diagnose and verify proper functionality
  • Operate shop equipment safely and effectively, including hand tools, presses, hoists, cranes, forklift, and hydraulic testing equipment.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, equipment performance, equipment and service part inventory.
  • Collaborate with leadership to define, plan, and schedule maintenance and continuous improvement activities to reduce operational disruptions.
  • Work closely with engineers, lab personnel, and other team members to troubleshoot equipment issues and complete projects.
  • Collaborate with various members of the organization including engineers, other lab personnel, facilities, and leadership to ensure the hydraulic system supports the tactical and strategic goals of the organization
Qualifications
