Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a Structural Technician IV in Colorado Springs to lead highly complex assembly operations and mentor junior technicians. You will coordinate with engineering and production, applying best practices and strict quality controls to ensure safe, reliable assemblies for ISR and aviation systems.

You must have a Secret clearance, be proficient with blueprints and technical documents, and bring extensive hands-on experience with airframe assembly and fastening

Are you a highly skilled mechanic ready to take your aviation career to next level? As a Structural Technician IV, you will oversee the most complex and critical assembly operations. This role involves providing expert technical support, leading large-scale projects, and ensuring the integration of best practices in all assembly processes. You will act as a key liaison between the production floor and engineering management, driving continuous improvement and innovation.

The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Qualifications You Must Have

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Mastery in blueprint reading and technical documentation.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications; ability to complete installations per technical drawings while maintaining edge distance and pitch.
• Advanced experience with structure assembly, minor part fitting techniques and repair and refinishing such as airframe corrosion removal, as applicable.
• Ability to install various fasteners such as rivets and hi-locks.
• Must have own tools in good working order.
• An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Associate's degree in aerospace manufacturing or related discipline.
• Advanced certifications in aerospace manufacturing.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale assembly projects.
• Ability to travel.
• Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.

Essential Functions

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Required to be on your feet for most of the work shift.
• Use of hand and power tools requiring hand/finger dexterity.
• Exposure to noisy and potentially hazardous environments; proper safety gear must be worn.
• Ability to travel may be required.

Estimated Starting Salary Range

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $34.90 - $47.99.

Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
