Job description

Job Description:

Summary:

The person in this position will work with project teams to provide computer-aided drafting expertise, primarily using AutoCAD software. Typical duties include data collection, planning, and problem solving related to structural design. Project work will involve drafting designs for foundations and supports, steel framing, access platforms, stacks, pumping and piping systems, industrial equipment, conveyor systems, and various details.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications include:

  1. Two-year technical certificate or relevant education/training
  2. Experience in structural design using CAD or related industry experience (construction, detailing, fabrication, etc.)
  3. Ability and desire to work independently and collaboratively
  4. Attention to detail
  5. Strong communication skills
  6. Ability to follow safety procedures
  7. Flexible working style and willingness to meet deadlines
  8. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  9. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Preferred qualifications include:

  1. One or more years of related industry experience
  2. Experience with 3D software such as Revit, CADWorx, Solidworks, etc.
  3. Familiarity with various structural systems
  4. Experience in drafting in other engineering disciplines

This position may offer a hybrid work arrangement, based out of Barr's Duluth, Minnesota office.

Compensation:

The hourly rate ranges from $22.00 to $24.00, classified as non-exempt under FLSA. Compensation varies based on experience and qualifications. Potential for discretionary bonus based on performance, with profit sharing through ESOP.
