Engineering Technician

Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking a full-time Structural Engineering Technician for our Springfield, Illinois office. Other locations will be considered based on the candidate's qualifications. This role is within the Government Market sector.

Position Profile:

This role supports projects related to building structures, requiring thorough knowledge of structural drafting, computer operations, and engineering practices. Responsibilities include recommending design changes, field verification, maintaining technical knowledge, and adhering to quality standards.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

• Develop plans and documents from architectural and engineering inputs, including calculations and 3D modeling.
• Perform calculations and provide engineering solutions under supervision.
• Meet project deadlines and communicate any issues to supervisors.
• Investigate field conditions and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with project team members to develop and deliver drawings.
• Maintain quality assurance and documentation standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Technical Skills:

• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or related software is preferred.

Soft Skills:

• Ability to build effective relationships and work independently or in teams.
• Interest in diverse assignments and continuous learning.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and positive attitude.

Education/Experience:

• Associate degree in CADD, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; alternative training and experience considered.
• 3-5 years of Revit experience preferred; entry-level candidates with relevant education are also encouraged.
