Job summary

EGC Construction, headquartered in Newport, Kentucky, is seeking a Structural Steel Welder for our steel erection group. The role involves welding structural steel, inspecting welds, fitting connections, and assisting with steel erection in commercial and industrial projects. Required is a high school diploma or equivalent, transportation, and good communication skills.

Travel and seasonal weather work are expected. OSHA 10/30 certification is preferred and may be required before starting.

We are currently seeking structural steel welder for our steel erection group. Iron worker and metal building erection is a plus but not required.

What You Will Do

• Weld structural steel connections for new and retrofit steel erection projects .
• Inspect welds as necessary to meet product specifications
• Fitting , connecting and bolt up of structural steel
• Steel cutting with a torch and grinding .
• Assist with steel erection connecting and bolt up.
• Equipment rigging.
• Pre engineered metal building erection
• Follow job site safety and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area. Identify safety hazards to protect self and others.

What You Will Bring

• Must be able to certify in stick structural welding
• OSHA 10/30 Certified, preferred. If you do not have OSHA 10/30, it will be required before starting the position (certification paid by company)
• Lift trained
• RTF and forklift experience
