Aerotek is hiring a Structural Steel Welder for a 1st shift role in a heavy fabrication shop in York, PA. You will weld and fabricate structural steel components using flux-core processes, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

The position requires reading blueprints, working with weld symbols, and operating shop equipment. A team-based environment with growth opportunities is offered.

Structural Steel Welder

1st Shift | Steel Fabrication Shop

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Welder to join our fabrication team. This role focuses on welding and fabricating structural steel components using flux-core welding processes while ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and production standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Weld structural steel components using flux-core welding.

• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.

• Perform fit-up, layout, and weld placement to specifications.

• Operate overhead cranes and fabrication equipment safely.

• Use grinders, air arc gougers, magnetic drills, and related shop tools.

• Inspect completed welds and maintain quality standards.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Schedule

1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Pay: $25-$35/hr based on experience

Qualifications

• Structural steel welding experience with flux-core processes.

• Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols.

• Overhead crane experience preferred.

• Experience using fabrication tools and equipment.

• Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety.

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Work Environment

Heavy industrial steel fabrication shop with overhead cranes, welding stations, and fabrication equipment. Steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and basic personal welding tools are required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of York, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
