Job Description

• Weld structural steel components for buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to determine welding requirements.
• Perform welding processes including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) to join steel components.
• Ensure the proper alignment, fit-up, and assembly of metal parts before welding.
• Inspect and test welded joints to ensure quality and strength standards are met.
• Operate welding tools and equipment, including grinders, saws, and drills, to prepare materials.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following safety protocols, using personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhering to OSHA regulations.
• Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools.
• Work collaboratively with other trades and construction teams to ensure timely project completion.
• Troubleshoot and repair welded structures as necessary.
• Follow project timelines and report progress to supervisors.

Job Requirements

• Proven experience as a structural steel welder or in a similar welding position.
• Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW).
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
• Strong knowledge of safety practices in welding and construction.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including lifting heavy materials and working at heights.
• Good attention to detail and precision in work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues on-site.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
