Job summary

Qualdoc in York, PA is seeking a Structural Steel Shop Foreman for the 2nd shift. You will lead the 2nd shift in a structural steel fabrication shop, supervise employees, oversee production activities, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

The role requires foreman or leadership experience, experience in structural steel fabrication, a high school diploma, strong English communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, and support shop employees during 2nd shift.

• Coordinate deliveries and help maintain inventory levels.
• Establish and follow standard fabrication procedures.
• Monitor quality control and ensure products meet customer requirements.
• Identify ways to improve productivity, efficiency, employee performance, and quality.
• Coordinate with project management, logistics, purchasing, other departments, and fabrication facilities to meet project schedules.
• Communicate product status, quality concerns, and delivery information as needed.

Job Type: Direct Hire
Starting Pay: $32/hour - higher pay available based on experience
Shift Differential: Additional $3/hour for 2nd shift

MUST HAVE: Structural steel fabrication industry experience and prior Foreman or leadership experience.

Position Overview

Lead second-shift operations in a structural steel fabrication shop, overseeing employees, production activities, equipment, materials, and daily workflow. The Foreman will help keep fabrication on schedule while maintaining safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

• Lead, direct, and support shop employees during 2nd shift
• Oversee daily fabrication and production activities
• Manage shop personnel, equipment, tools, and materials
• Maintain and update production and fabrication schedules
• Coordinate deliveries and help maintain inventory levels

• Foreman, supervisor, or leadership experience required
• Strong knowledge of the structural steel fabrication industry

• Strong verbal and written English communication skills

• Ability to work 2nd shift, overtime, and Saturdays as needed
