Job summary

Berger Steel Corp is seeking a motivated Project Manager / Project Engineer to oversee structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects from contract award through final completion.

You will coordinate detailing, fabrication, purchasing, scheduling, deliveries, and field erection, working with customers, architects, engineers, detailers, vendors, and field personnel to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery per contract quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
• 3–7 years in structural steel fabrication, miscellaneous metals, or construction project management.
• Ability to read and interpret structural/shop drawings.
• Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple structural steel fabrication/erection projects from award to closeout.
• Serve as primary contact for owners, GCs, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Develop and update project schedules to meet milestones.
• Monitor budgets, costs, and profitability.
• Identify risks and implement schedule/cost mitigation.
• Prepare and process change orders and contract modifications.
• Lead project meetings and document action items.
• Coordinate closeout documentation, warranties, and punch lists.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field
