Job summary

gpac is seeking a Structural Steel / Miscellaneous Metals Estimator to join a growing, well-established steel fabrication company in Salem, Oregon. The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years of experience preparing accurate take-offs and competitive bids for both structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of estimating experience in structural steel fabrication and/or miscellaneous metals.
• Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; proficient with estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quantity take-offs from construction drawings and specifications.
• Estimate structural steel and miscellaneous metals packages from bid through award.
• Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to identify project scope.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
• Develop complete and competitive cost estimates and bid proposals.
• Coordinate with project management, detailing, fabrication, and operations teams during project handoff.
• Maintain estimating records, historical pricing, and bid documentation.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and communicate with clients, architects, engineers, and general contractors as needed.
