Job summary

Allied Steel Buildings is seeking a Material Handler – Structural Steel / Overhead Crane Operator to safely move, load, and position structural steel beams and assemblies within the production facility using indoor gantry cranes and rigging equipment. You will support fabrication, welding, and shipping operations by ensuring materials are delivered accurately and safely to the appropriate workstations.

Qualifications

Minimum 2+ years of material handling experience in a manufacturing or structural steel environment preferred.
Experience operating overhead or gantry cranes strongly preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Basic knowledge of rigging practices and load handling preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities

Operate indoor gantry cranes to move structural steel beams, plates, and assemblies throughout the facility.
Safely rig, lift, and position steel materials using slings, chains, chokers, and other rigging equipment.
Load and unload materials from fabrication areas, workstations, and staging zones.
Support production flow by delivering materials to welding, cutting, and assembly stations in a timely manner.
Coordinate with production, welding, and logistics teams to meet daily production goals.
