Job description

Shape the flow of steel at PEC

Own the order, safety, and rhythm of our structural steel yard. As PEC’s Structural Steel Laydown & Logistics Coordinator, you’ll choreograph how material arrives, moves, and departs—keeping production supplied, drivers moving efficiently, and every travel lane clear.

A day in the yard
  • Walk the yard at start-up: verify clear access paths, check staging maps, and confirm priorities with the shop.
  • Direct and support truck arrivals; unload structural shapes and fabricated components with certified forklift operation.
  • Stage beams, columns, tube, plate, and angle by project and pickup schedule—so production never waits.
  • Prepare and load materials for the Python structural steel processing machine.
  • Continuously tidy the laydown areas—remove banding, scrap, and debris; keep housekeeping tight.
  • Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts and other handling equipment; address or report hazards immediately.
  • Coordinate with the Structural Steel Shop, fabrication team, and drivers to place materials in assigned zones.
