Job summary

Matrix Service Company in Clarksville, AR is seeking an experienced Ironworker (Structural) to assist with layouts, rigging, and assembly of structural-steel members on heavy industrial projects. You will work with a crew to ensure alignment, safety, and adherence to blueprints on site.

Responsibilities include hoisting supervision, guiding lifts, cutting and welding as required, and maintaining a strong safety focus.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience in refinery maintenance, turnaround, data center or heavy industrial construction.
Basic knowledge of structural steel erection, rigging standards, crane signaling, and field welding/cutting tools.
Must pass Ironworker (Structural) proficiency test at or above 70%.
Complete Matrix Service safety training and client/site-specific training.
Must maintain active, compliant status in the DISA drug testing program.

Responsibilities

Assist journeyman with layouts, rigging, raising, and placing girders, columns and other structural members.
Set up and inspect hoisting/rigging equipment for safe lifting of steel members.
Signal crane operators using standard hand or radio signals for precise lifts.
Guide and control structural members during lifts with tag lines.
Align bolt holes and secure members until bolting/welding is complete.
Assist with cutting, burning, and welding of steel as needed on site.
Identify safety hazards and enforce safety protocols with the crew.
Perform other job-related duties as directed by Journeyman and supervision.
