Structural Steel Fitter / Welder-Fitter

Location: York, PA
Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Shift: 1st Shift

Pay Rates:Up to $25.00/hour, based on experience

Position Summary

We are seeking skilled steel fabrication professionals for first-shift positions in York, PA. Openings are available for Structural Steel Fitters and Welder-Fitters. Candidates should have experience working with structural steel, reading blueprints, and using fabrication equipment.

What You'll Do

• Review blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications before starting projects.

• Measure, mark, position, and fit steel components to meet project requirements.

• Complete fitting, fabrication, and welding work based on the assigned position.

• Set up and operate a track torch.

• Safely use and maintain welding machines, tools, and related equipment.

• Check finished work for proper measurements, accuracy, and quality.

• Coordinate with coworkers and supervisors to complete jobs on schedule.

• Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all shop safety procedures.

What We're Looking For

• Previous structural steel fitting, welding, or fabrication experience.

• Structural Steel Fitters: At least 3 years of structural steel fabrication experience.

• Welder-Fitters: Previous experience with structural steel welding and fitting.

• Ability to read and understand blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications.

• Familiarity with welding processes, materials, and equipment.

• Ability to set up and operate a track torch.

• Welder-Fitter applicants must be able to pass all required Flux Core Welding tests.

• AWS or other relevant welding certifications are preferred.

• Strong measuring, layout, and attention-to-detail skills.

• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
